And I must go.
With Thanksgiving upon us, it’s a good idea to have a few carpet clean up tips for those “oops” moments. Everyone loves a fun filled holiday gathering, but the clean up…not so much. And, let’s face it, a Thanksgiving feast can do a number on your carpet. Here are a few carpet clean up tips to keep in mind as this messy holiday draws near.

 What to Have on Hand
  • Paper towels or white cotton towel.
  • Plain dish detergent.
  • White vinegar.
  • White wine.
  • Shaving cream.
  • Spray Bottle.

How to Remove a Cranberry Sauce Stain

For that one person who actually likes cranberry sauce... it can be removed with a solution of a teaspoon of liquid detergent to one cup of water and then blotted with a wet sponge and dabbed dry.

How to Remove a Red Wine Stain

If you only like red wine, that is fine (I love to rhyme), but make sure you also have some white wine on hand. Not only do you want some drink options for guests, but white wine surprisingly can help clean up a red wine spill. First, absorb as much of the red wine from your carpet by placing a paper towel or white cotton towel over the spill and standing on it. Next, put some white wine in a spray bottle and lightly spray the red wine stain. Then, absorb the spill again with a paper towel or cotton towel. Repeat several times. Eventually, the red wine spill should lift from your carpet.

How to Remove a Gravy Stain

“Did you spill it again? Oh good Gravy…” If your like me, you love EXTRA gravy and it gets everywhere. In this case, it can be cleaned by using shaving cream and gently working it into the stain. Hot water and vinegar can also be effective. Use a wet towel to dab the spot after cleaning.

Hopefully, you will not be needing any of these carpet clean up tips, but if so, make sure to clean the spill as soon as possible!  We are wishing you a wonderful holiday season filled with no food fights, messy dinners, or family members who talk with their hands (we all know that is where the wine stain comes from)!
